A TRIP TO KNITTERS MUSEUM AT RUDDINGTON ...

Our local U3A groups are certainly making good use of this fabulous community asset and taking our yellow ladies all over the country.

Some members from Ashfield paid a visit to the Knitter's Museum at Ruddington recently and are pictured in this smashing photo with volunteer driver Dave Thorley at the wheel of Lady Caroline.

A great day out and thanks also to Val Thorley who accompanied Dave and was able to take the super pickie of them all.

JOSEPH WHITAKER STUDENTS TO RAINWORTH...

The usual 'Sing Off' at Joseph Whitaker is taking place today and our yellow ladies have all been needed to pick up children from both primary schools in the village to take them down to Rainworth.

Here is a fabulous pickie of Ladies Catherine and Elizabeth parked up outside the C of E School early this morning waiting for their passengers. Thanks to Allan Rogers and Glynne Payze - hope you joined in the singing practice guys!!

OPTIMA LADIES CHRISTMAS VISIT TO FLORAL MEDIA, CAUNTON...

Our Optima Ladies from Mansfield enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch out in December at Floral Media, Caunton. Some of them are pictured with Lady Caroline outside the venue.

A DAY IN WHITBY FOR STUDENTS AT JOSEPH WHITTAKER SCHOOL...

We all love a day out at the coast whatever the weather.

All that fresh air and bracing winds!

That's exactly what some of the students from our affiliated school Joseph Whitaker experienced last month when they took Lady Caroline up to Whitby for the day. Huge thanks to our volunteer driver Mike Salmon and his wife Jackie who spent the day with them.

OUR BUSES OUT IN FORCE...

Our yellow ladies were out and about dropping hirers off at various venues during the festive period.

Here are a few photos of recent places we have visited together with a couple of our regular evening drivers. Some of the pick ups are quite late so thanks guys! LOCAL RESIDENTS GO ON A TRIP TO THURSFORD, NORFOLK FOR CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR EVENT...

Our volunteer driver Andrew Spence, accompanied by his wife Anick, took a group of local residents down to Thursford, Norfolk recently for the Christmas Spectacular event.

This is the largest Christmas show in the country and is held every year. They had a wonderful day and many thanks to Andrew for getting them there and home again safely.

CHAUFFEUR TO ST. JOHN'S DAY CENTRE FOR LOCAL GROUP...

Our affiliated group St John's Day Centre in Hucknall, hire Lady Annabella twice a week to transport their members to and from the venue.

The sessions are co-ordinated by Andrea Smith and our volunteer driver Jeff Thomas is their regular 'chauffeur'.

Our Trustee Richard Baker dropped in on them recently to take a few photos, which clearly show that this facility is enjoyed and appreciated by all who use it.

RAVENSHEAD SWING BAND AT RUFFORD MILL....

One of our newest affiliated groups - the Ravenshead Swing Band - hired Lady Caroline recently to transport themselves and their various instruments to Rufford Mill to play at an event. They are pictured at the mill with cases of all shapes and sizes! My thanks to volunteer driver David Cooper for giving up his evening to get them there and home again safely.

DANCE COMPETITION FOR JOSEPH WHITAKER GIRLS...

Volunteer driver Dave Thorley and his wife Val safely transported six lovely ladies from Joseph Whitaker to take part in the final of a huge dance competition being held in Birmingham recently. 

They are pictured aboard Lady Caroline and although they weren't placed as the standard was so high they certainly performed extremely well so many congratulations girls.

A HUGE THANKS....

A huge 'Thank You' to all who voted for Ravenshead Community Transport in the recent Aviva Community Fund programme. 

Our final votes total was 2830 which is a great achievement and we are extremely appreciative of the support shown for Ravenshead Community Transport. 

We made it through to the final round but were 'pipped at the post' as they say! Next time perhaps! Many thanks again...

A TRIP TO DUCKERIES GARDEN CENTRE FOR LADY ANNABELLA...

 

Our Mansfield & Ashfield Carer Group hired Lady Annabella recently to take a trip to the Dukeries Garden Centre, near Worksop.

Lady Annabella visited the Crich Tramway Museum recently with a group from Rainworth  and District U3A.

A TRIP TO LONG SUTTON FOR THE ANNUAL FESTIVAL...

Our local affiliated group, All Saints Church in Annesley, hired Lady Annabella a few weeks ago and took a trip to Long Sutton in Lincolnshire for the Annual Festival at a local Church.

Ravenshead Community Transport have been awarded a grant from Santander.

Jo Miller presented our Chairman (and volunteer driver) David Grenham with a cheque for £5000 this morning at the Cornwater Club. Also pictured are members of the Club arriving for their morning session in Lady Caroline driven by our driver John O'Riordan.

A huge thanks goes to Jo and all at Santander, their help is greatly appreciated.

A TRIP TO BLETCHLEY PARK...

Two of our fleet - Ladies Caroline and Catherine - took a group from Woodborough Ladies to Bletchley Park recently. Our usual thanks to volunteer drivers Phil Asquith, Kate Asquith and David Kirk for getting them and home again safely.

RAVENSHEAD COMMUNITY TRANSPORT GOES GLOBAL...

RCT goes Global!! Ashfield U3A hired Lady Caroline yesterday to travel to the Globe Theatre in London to see the exceptional performance of Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice.

They are pictured outside the Theatre afterwards. Our volunteer driver Alan Browne said 'A wonderful day all round!'. Huge thanks to Alan for giving up his time to drive for them as well as sorting out the rather daunting issue of parking! A fantastic day.

TRANSPORT TO FREEDOM...

The Project operates 3 x 15 seater wheelchair accessible mini coaches providing community transport for the inhabitants of  Ravenshead and the surrounding area.

 Many people are finding they are able to get out and about to friends, social events, meetings and appointments by using the Village Bus. It has a lift to help wheel chair users and those for whom steps are difficult.

A VISIT TO THE SET OF CORONATION STREET FOR RAINWORTH RESIDENTS...

Rainworth U3A hired Lady Caroline last week to visit the set of Coronation Street in Manchester.

Our volunteer driver David Kirk gave up his time to get them there and back safely and is pictured 'behind the bar' of the famous Rover's Return.
